Synopsis
Price Check is a new musical comedy about real people in an Australian
supermarket. It
explores the social cost of consumerism and big
business. Experience the fantasy world
that exists once you enter the turnstile…
Dave Fisher is a grocery boy wanting to climb the management ladder of
success. Narelle
Sims started working as a checkout chick fresh out of
High School and is still there 15
years later. Mrs Zimmerman, an elderly Jewish lady,
spends each day visiting the
supermarket because her family are busy with their own
lives. Mr Butler the Store
Manager is profit orientated and likes to keep a
personal stash of cash in his briefcase.
Nick Howard, one of Dave’s workmates, has a peculiar fetish for Fruit
& Vegetables.
Does Dave receive his promotion? Does Narelle find future happiness? Does
Mr Butler
have to do everything himself? Can Nick survive
without his fruits?
Can Mrs Zimmerman cope with reality?
At some stage in our
lives we all need a Price Check.
